Devon First Aid was founded in 1999 by Mrs Helen Smith. David has had a rich career in Health Care. He started in the St John Ambulance aged 12, Joined the Army as a Combat Medical Technician at 16 and trained to work in Operating Theatres a few years later. In 1992 He qualified as a Registered General Nurse working children with disabilities, elderly care, prison health care, NHS Direct and going on to qualify and practice as Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.
David began his training career as an Officer with the RAF Volunteer Reserve where he maintains his affiliation with the Combined cadet force to this day. Helen developed a training ethos of gentle, fun, educational and practice-based learning which David continues to deliver.

The First Aid Industry Body (FAIB)
The First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) was set up to fill the void created by the HSE withdrawing from the Approvals system and to give a direct alternative to the bureaucracy of the Ofqual/SQA system. The FAIB has been created by Ian Kershaw MBE, who previously managed the First Aid Approvals and Monitoring Service of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) from 1995-2007 and is operated through an Advisory Panel of democratically elected people from within Training Organisations who are experts in the First Aid Training Industry.
For you as a customer this means that we can provide nationally accredited First Aid Training but with the independence to be able to tailor our product to your business need. We provide up to date information and training which is relevant to you and your staff.
