The Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work Enhanced with Basic Trauma for Maritime Security Operatives Course

The Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work – Enhanced with Basic Trauma for Maritime Security Operatives Course

FAIB Approved – Approval certificate number 150

The Course

In collaboration with the biggest Maritime Security Operative providers in the UK we are pleased to announce the launch an industry specific adaptation to an existing FAIB approved course.

The Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work Enhanced with Basic Trauma for Maritime Security Operatives Course has been designed to be delivered in the Maritime Environment both on and offshore. Although the material can be taught by Devon First Aid Trainers, we also offer a comprehensive Train the Trainer package and ongoing support and certification.

Currently operatives are asked to complete the FPOSi or FREC3. These are both very valuable in terms of skills and personal development but problematic that they are designed for emergency situations that are closer to specialist hospital care. Maritime Security has its challenges in terms of remoteness and the experience and knowledge of the individual Operative.

Our 12-hour course aims to fill that knowledge and skill gap by reducing the time between qualifications, providing Team Leaders with materials that will enable regular practice within the maritime workplace all at a very competitive cost.

The material includes Care Under Fire, Initial Assessment, Breathing Disorders, CPR, Circulatory system/Cardiac problems, Catastrophic Bleeding, Wounds and Bleeding & Shock, Fits, Fractures. Extremity injuries, Head Injuries, Unconscious Casualties, Spinal Trauma, Choking, Burns, Scalds, Acid attack, Eye Injuries. Evacuation Plans and Maintaining records.

Course Certification

At the end of the course, there will be a formal assessment. If successful, each candidate will be awarded a the nationally recognised First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for 2 years
